Mudding 4x4: A New American Pastime

Mud boggin, mud bogging [http://mudbogging.net/241] or mudding. Whichever you call it, it's taking off big. All you need are truck lovers and plenty of mud to drive them in. The two combined have produced a new sport that's growing in popularity.
If you've grown up in a rural area, you have probably already driven a pick-up truck through the mud for something to relieve the boredom. In the same way that kids love to make mud pies, bigger kids still like to play in the mud. With mud bogging, what was once an idle pastime is transformed into a competitive event.
The point of the competition is to get to the other side of a trench of mud. It may sound easy, but it's really not. You will need a truck with a powerful engine to get through without being stuck.
The driver who wins the event is the one who makes it through in the best speed. It's just that simple. Often, there isn't even a prize for winning, other than the chance to brag about the feat.
Mudding isn't just fun for the competitors. It's become a popular spectator sport as well. And while there may not be a big prize at the end, there's probably a buck or two traded on the sidelines, at least in a friendly wager. Sometimes, a collection will be taken up for the winner as well.
If you want to get started mudding too, start looking around at the types of trucks that are generally used. You will need a 4x4 truck with a really strong engine to be in the running. But that isn't all you are going to need.
Making it through the trench requires some skillful driving as well. If you have no experience with this, don't get frustrated if you have a hard time in the beginning. mudding 4x4 meets are supposed to be a good time, so invest in a truck and head out to the mud.
