Mudding 4x4 Is A Growing Sport

Mud boggin, mud bogging or mudding. Whichever you call it, it's taking off big. All you need are truck lovers and plenty of mud to drive them in. The two combined have produced a new sport that's growing in popularity.

Anyone who grew up in a rural area has probably had first-hand experience of going through mud in a pick-up for something to do. In the same way little kids love making mud pies, when we get bigger, we still are fascinated by playing in mud. Mud bogging has taken what was once just an idle pastime and transformed it into a true event.

The point of the competition is to make it through what amounts to a trench of mud. Maybe that sounds easy to you? It's not. It takes a powerful engine to make it without getting stuck.

The driver who wins the event is the one who makes it through in the best speed. It's just that simple. Often, there isn't even a prize for winning, other than the chance to brag about the feat.

It isn't just the drivers than enjoy mudding. It's good fun for the spectators as well. It's a good bet that there are a few friendly wagers on the sideline as well, even though there's no big pot at the end. A collection will sometimes be taken up for the winning driver, though.

If you want to get involved in mud bogging yourself, take some time to check out the trucks that are most often used for the sport. You will need a 4x4 with a strong engine to have a chance of winning. But it's not all about engine power.

Making it through the trench requires some skillful driving as well. If you have no experience with this, don't get frustrated if you have a hard time in the beginning.   rel=nofollow [http://mudbogging.net/241]Mudding 4x4 meets are supposed to be a good time, so invest in a truck and head out to the mud.

Mud Bogging Requires Strong Mudding Trucks

Mud Bogging Requires Strong Mudding Trucks

There's a new sport taking place in many rural areas of the country. Called "mud bogging, " it's a way to bring a little excitement to what may sometimes be a somewhat staid rural existence. Of course, the sport needs trucks to take place. And that's where mudding trucks used in the new sport of mud bogging come into play. The essence of the sport is big 4x4 trucks going wild in the deep mud.

Nowadays, the sport has grown so popular that there is an actual league and events held all over the country. This sort of activity differs from just taking a truck and going out on a 4x4 excursion, also. This is because it takes place in a bog or trench of certain length and will need a powerful truck that has been fitted for this purpose. Usually, these kinds of trucks are known as "boggers."

Most of all, a good bogger needs a powerful engine. There's no getting around that fact, and that's because deliberately taking a jacked-up truck into a deep mud bog trench will require a good motor to get it into -- and especially out of -- the bog. These bogs (a trench, actually) run anywhere from an eighth to a full mile in length. The sport actually draws lots of people to watch the bogging, by the way.

Usually, a good bogger needs to be correctly set up so that it helps keep the engine from blowing itself up while it's trying to get the truck through the trench or bog. Going from one side to the other will require a good engine and transmission package, and the truck must be able to do all of this with no assistance from other trucks. If the truck bogs down, the match is over.

When considering mudding trucks, make sure that it is equipped with a good, solid lift kit that has raised the truck up enough so that it has a good chance of not becoming bogged down in the trench. Additionally, the tires on such a truck need to be knobby and over sized enough so that the truck can gain sufficient traction to be able to move swiftly down the trench.

Lastly, and this should go almost without saying, make sure the engine and transmission are strong enough to take on what'll end up being very powerful forces that will work to keep these   rel=nofollow [http://muddingtrucks.net/iha]mudding trucks bogged down. Mud, water and mud and general overall sludge, slime and deep trenches will all work hard to try to get the truck stuck.

The Best Dirty Fun You Can Have With Your Clothes on!

Guest Post By S W Allen

For those who spend their life living in a shirt and tie behind a corporate desk there is a secret passion that is known to not many outside of their families. This passion is one of the darkest and dirtiest activates known to man. What is the things that is so dirty that they cannot share it except with their most intimate friends? MUD! More specifically the thrill and joy of going out to the back woods and making a big old sloppy mess of themselves tearing it up in a mudding 4x4 on the weekends.

When mudding the most enjoyable thing about it is of course making a dirty, slimy grimy mess out of yourself and your companions, but to really enjoy the thrill you need to have a truck that can take the abuse that the mud pit is going to throw at it. You need a truck that is durable and reliable and most of all one that you don't care to much about the looks of.

One of the best trucks to use as a mudding 4x4 are some of the smaller, high power racing trucks. These trucks have a great suspension system, a nice strong transmission, good torque transfer and a great powerful engine that can drive you through the deepest mud pit with ease.

Of course you also need to make sure that you can get the mud out of the truck as easily as you got it into the truck. One suggestion is to replace the trucks seat with a hard plastic bench style seat. You might also want to accommodate easier clean up by drilling some water drain holes in the floor board as well as the bed. These changes will allow you to easily spray the inside of the truck out with a high power hose when the day is done.

Safety is of course important. Please remember that you will be driving a very powerful vehicle at a very high rate of speed though a boggy, slick, and wet mass. You need to make sure that you have adequate restraints in place such as five point harnesses just in case things get a little out of control.

You may want to install a winch on the front or back of your truck for the purpose of getting you out of the inevitable hole you will find yourself stuck waist deep in the middle of eventually. The use of an electric winch allows you to get yourself out of a jam without the need of an expensive tow truck call.

Owning a   rel=nofollow [http://muddingtrucks.net/3bi]mudding 4x4 can be great fun and the act of going out with your friends and playing in the mud on the weekends can bring a new level of enjoyment and appreciation for life in to your existence. If you have never been mudding give it a try. You'll love it.
